The Opportunity.
Beyond providing accommodation and services to athletes and officials in 2012, the Village will exist as a legacy of the Games, where architecture will genuinely contribute to the well being and enjoyment of residents and visitors alike.
This is your opportunity to contribute to the creation of a development that will become an architectural example in terms of design, planning and development that others will look to emulate in the years to come.
It is also a project which will have truly international exposure, providing visibility and provoking interest from around the globe. The development must rise to meet these expectations. This means that we are looking for submissions that display a high level of creativity and innovation, whilst retaining practical usability.
Candidates have until 28 June 2007 to enter submissions for a place on the Village Architects Panel. The list of panel members, which is expected to comprise around 40 practices, will then be announced on 31 July 2007.
Once in place, panellists will be short-listed for individual commissions.
